About this grant

The AI-Based Early Childhood Development (ECD) Innovation Challenge is a Government of Andhra Pradesh initiative led by the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub in collaboration with the Women Development & Child Welfare Department. The challenge focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence to strengthen Early Childhood Development outcomes during the critical first 2,000 days of a child’s life. Innovators are invited to design AI-powered solutions for children aged 0–6 years that enable early identification of developmental delays, personalized caregiver interventions, and data-driven decision support for Anganwadi workers under the ICDS ecosystem. Selected solutions will receive pilot funding and are eligible for direct government procurement opportunities of up to ₹2 crore, enabling real-world deployment across Andhra Pradesh. The program includes structured evaluation, pilot implementation in live field settings, and scale-up support from the state government.
