About this grant

Call for applications to receive an urban prize, an initiative designed to recognize entrepreneurs developing startups that foster a more resilient and sustainable planet. To be eligible, climatech startups must have raised less than $5 million in private capital and offer solutions that align with one of the two designated award tracks. The competition will award two grand prizes of $50K each to the winning companies, while the runner-up in each category will receive $10K. The 2026 competition features two distinct categories reflecting the dual necessity of combating and adjusting to environmental changes: The Climate Mitigation Prize: This track targets startups focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and addressing the root causes of climate change. Eligible solutions include renewable energy, circular economy initiatives, industrial decarbonization, and AI energy impact; and The Climate Adaptation Prize: This track supports startups building resilience within communities and ecosystems. Eligible innovations include risk modeling, water security, heat-resistant materials, and advanced warning systems for extreme weather.
