Call for proposals to accelerate the development of Innovative Advanced Materials (IAMs) that prioritize circularity and resilient supply networks. With a total budget of €37M, the initiative specifically targets research and innovation in recyclable polymers, composites, magnets, and metal alloys for additive manufacturing. Proposals are expected to cover the entire innovation cycle—from initial design for circularity to industrial scale-up and demonstration—ensuring that new materials possess superior functionalities while remaining easy to recover, recycle, and valorize at the end of their life cycle. To facilitate market uptake, projects must integrate the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework and utilize digital tools, such as AI and FAIR data principles, to support circular product design across supply chains. The call requires the development of circular business models and industrial use cases, particularly within the strategic value chains of mobility and medical devices. Successful consortia, consisting of at least three independent entities from different Member States or Associated Countries, can apply for awards ranging between €5.00 and 6.50 million. This topic is a key implementation of the IAM4EU and Made in Europe partnerships, aiming to significantly increase resource efficiency and harmonize regulatory requirements for a simplified market transition.
