With a total budget of €38M, the Commission intends to fund approximately six projects with grants ranging between €6.00 and 7.50 million each. The initiative targets critical industrial sectors, including energy, mobility, construction, electronics, textiles, and medical devices, where the replacement of hazardous or circularity-hindering substances is essential for European competitiveness and sustainability. Selected projects are expected to significantly reduce the regulatory and operational costs associated with hazardous chemicals while securing European supply chains against future restrictions. By demonstrating a clear business case and exploitation strategy, these initiatives will help speed up the transition to a clean, autonomous economy. Ultimately, the call aims to prove that minimizing the use of substances of concern is not only an environmental necessity but also a powerful driver for industrial innovation and market growth.
