With a total budget of €49M, the call provides grants between €5.00 and 8.00 million to support projects that reduce reliance on animal testing while enhancing the human relevance of drug discovery and regulatory assessments. Proposals should focus on developing or optimizing scalable, reproducible platforms that utilize cutting-edge technologies. These include: Complex In-Vitro Models: Utilizing induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSC), patient-derived organoids, and sophisticated Organ-on-Chip (OoC) systems; Digital Innovation: Incorporating AI-driven predictive modeling and Virtual Twin technology to simulate disease progression and intervention responses; and Real-time Monitoring: Integrating embedded sensors to capture immediate physiological responses.
