The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) seeks to advance its mission by continuing support of the Coccidioidomycosis Collaborative Research Centers (CCRCs). The CCRCs are highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary, research centers that conduct clinical and translational research to support the development of a vaccine to combat coccidioidomycosis (Valley fever), a serious and difficult to treat fungal infection endemic in many regions of the United States.
