Medical Student Education Program (MSE)

About this grant

The Medical Student Education (MSE) Program provides support to public medical schools in the top quartile of states with a projected primary care provider shortage to expand or support education for medical students preparing to become physicians.  Grant Number: HRSA-26-098. Expected awards: 8.

Eligibility requirements

All of the following criteria must be met:

• To determine eligibility, HRSA uses the National Center for Health Workforce Analysis (NCHWA) projections1 through 2038, which indicate there are 41 states with a projected shortage of primary care physicians. The top quartile of states with projected shortages of primary care physicians include 12 states: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Ten
