How to apply
- 1Confirm your eligibility by verifying Alberta residency, Canadian status or permanent residency or Protected Person eligibility, at least one year of primary residence in Alberta, good standing with the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and appropriate applicant type (no incorporation required for individuals, ensembles, or collectives).
- 2Choose the correct project category by determining whether your proposal fits under art production, marketing, research, or training and career development.
- 3Define a specific project stage or activity by clearly stating what you are doing, why it is happening now, what stage it supports, and the final outcome.
- 4Prepare a focused project description explaining the literary genre, project objective, timeline, expected artistic or professional outcome, and why the activity is necessary at this stage.
- 5Create a detailed and eligible budget including only direct project expenses such as artist fees, research travel, accommodation, promotion, tuition or workshop fees, contracts or administrative fees, and subsistence costs.
- 6Justify subsistence expenses carefully by explaining why protected time is essential, ensuring requests stay within the $3,000/month limit and match the project timeline.
