Eligibility requirements
All of the following criteria must be met:
- Applicants must meet UKRI's individual eligibility requirements.
- A project lead or project co-lead must have a contract of employment with an eligible research organisation for the duration of the grant, except for New Investigator Awards and fellowships.
- Applicants may apply regardless of whether they are already involved in an MRC grant.
- Applicants without employment contracts covering the full project duration must have support from their research organisation to extend contracts or provide equivalent support.
- Early career researchers must be provided with appropriate mentorship and career development support where applicable.
- Retired, emeritus, or honorary project leads and co-leads must have their involvement covered by a contract with the research organisation.
- The host research organisation must be eligible to receive MRC funding.
- Applicants must obtain permission from all individuals named in the application before sharing their personal information with UKRI.
