About this grant

The TECHPIONEER Grant is a funding and incubation initiative led by IIT Madras Incubation Cell in collaboration with the School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, IIT Madras, and supported by HDFC Bank Parivartan under the Startup BuildUp initiative. The program is designed to support growth-stage deep-tech startups building impactful solutions aligned with India’s priorities and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Selected startups receive grant funding of up to ₹50 lakhs along with structured incubation support from IIT Madras Incubation Cell. The initiative focuses on helping startups innovate, build, and scale by providing access to mentorship, incubation infrastructure, and ecosystem support, with no additional equity taken for the grant, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Eligibility requirements

All of the following criteria must be met:

  • The startup must be registered with DPIIT
  • The startup should be at the growth stage with an MVP and/or early revenue
  • Startups must be working in deep-tech domains aligned with UN SDGs
  • The startup should be willing to undergo incubation at IIT Madras Incubation Cell
