Eligibility requirements
All of the following criteria must be met:
- Vic businesses impacted by the january 2026 bushfire and associated heatwave.
- The victorian and australian governments are providing financial relief to households and small businesses through the prolonged power outage payment (ppop) due to the january 2026 bushfire and associated heatwave.
- Are operating from a location that was without power for 7 days cumulatively, as a result of severe weather events between 7 january and 10 january 2026
- Have an electricity account in the name of the registered business that is registered against a national meter identification number (nmi) for the relevant electricity distribution network (electricity account holder)
- Have an annual victorian payroll of $10 million or less in 2024/2025 on an ungrouped basis
- Hold an australian business number (abn) and have held that abn at 12.01am wednesday 7 january 2026
- Have not applied for, or received, a ppop for an electricity account that is registered against the same nmi in relation to the same period.
What the funding covers
- $3.1K per week for up to 3 weeks.
