This program provides commercial landlords with rebates to install efficient electric systems.
Key facts
Eligibility requirements
All of the following criteria must be met:
- Owners, landlords and managers of commercial buildings.
- Commercial landlords operating centralised gas heating and/or hot water systems may be eligible for rebates to replace these with efficient electric systems. rooftop solar is also available to offset electricity consumption.
- Expressions of interest in the pilot program are open to building owners, landlords, strata managers managing commercial spaces, and managers of commercial property portfolios with commercial buildings.
- Eligible commercial buildings are those that have:
- Centralised natural gas fired heating and/or hot water (base building heating/hot water)
- Have 4 or more commercial tenants
- Have heating/hot water costs charged to tenants through rent, billed based on net lettable area or some other variant.
- On-site technical mentoring support for electrical workers
- Funding for nsw businesses impacted by the moratorium on timber harvesting in the great koala national park (gknp)
- One-on-one support for businesses affected by the summer 2026 victorian bushfires
What the funding covers
- Rebates of up to $50K at a rate of up to 75%.
How to apply
- 1Confirm readiness: Ensure you meet criteria (e.g., ABN, turnover limits, GST registration), align project objectives with grant goals, and estimate time for evidence gathering and writing.
- 2Gather evidence: Collect documents like financials, business plans, market research, project budgets, resumes, risk analysis, and support letters to prove capability and impact.

- 4Prepare and write application: Address all selection criteria clearly (project details, government alignment, costs, outcomes, benefits); keep concise, factual, and compelling; validate for completeness.
- 5Review, approve, and submit: Proofread, get stakeholder sign-off, submit online via the portal before deadline (no late entries); expect eligibility check, merit assessment, and outcome notification.
