About this grant
The Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements provide funding to primary producers to help them recover from an eligible declared disaster.

Eligibility requirements
All of the following criteria must be met:
- Wa primary producers affected by an eligible declared natural disaster.
- Freight costs of transporting livestock, fodder or water, and building or fencing equipment or machinery
- Funding is not intended to compensate for any losses suffered where adequate insurance could have been obtained and is only available when applicants can adequately demonstrate they have exhausted their own resources to recover from a disaster event.
- Operate a commercial scale farming, pastoral, horticultural or fishing business and be affected by a declared national disaster
- Have been operating for at least 1 year
- Be registered with the australian taxation office (ato) as a primary producer
- Have an australian business number (abn)
- Either own the farm land or hold a current minimum 5 year written agreement to sharefarm or lease the property for the purpose of primary production or own and operate under a fishing licence or have a 3 year lease of a fishing licence
- Devote a minimum of 75% of your labour to the affected primary production enterprise
- Confirm that your business usually generates at least 50% of its total income from the affected enterprise

- 3Register/log in: Obtain an Australian Business Number (ABN) if needed, sign into the relevant portal (e.g., Business Grants Hub portal), and note any prerequisites like advisory service reports.
- 4Prepare and write application: Address all selection criteria clearly (project details, government alignment, costs, outcomes, benefits); keep concise, factual, and compelling; validate for completeness.
- 5Review, approve, and submit: Proofread, get stakeholder sign-off, submit online via the portal before deadline (no late entries); expect eligibility check, merit assessment, and outcome notification.
