Eligibility requirements
All of the following criteria must be met:
- Individuals adversely affected by a disaster.
- Disaster recovery payment (drp) is a one-off, non-means tested payment that is available to assist individuals who have been adversely affected by a major disaster either in australia or overseas.
- People are considered adversely affected if, as a direct result of the disaster, they:
- Have an immediate family member who died or is missing
- Have their principal place of residence destroyed or significantly damaged as a result of the natural disaster
- Are the principal carer of a dependent child who has experienced any of the above.
- Be an australian resident or the holder of an eligible visa
- Have been adversely affected by a major disaster.
- Funding for businesses undertaking renewable energy projects
- Loans to assist first time farmers or farmers looking to start their own business or implement succession arrangements
- Funding for workers with a disability
What the funding covers
- Funding of up to $1K for adults, $400 for children.
How to apply
- 1Confirm readiness: Ensure you meet criteria (e.g., ABN, turnover limits, GST registration), align project objectives with grant goals, and estimate time for evidence gathering and writing.
- 2Gather evidence: Collect documents like financials, business plans, market research, project budgets, resumes, risk analysis, and support letters to prove capability and impact.

- 4Prepare and write application: Address all selection criteria clearly (project details, government alignment, costs, outcomes, benefits); keep concise, factual, and compelling; validate for completeness.
