About this grant
This program provides funding to NSW businesses with submetering hardware in place to help them analyse their energy usage patterns.

Eligibility requirements
All of the following criteria must be met:
- Nsw businesses with submetering hardware.
- The program aims to enable long-term improvements to energy performance by supporting planning, access to monitoring and analytics software, data integration, expert guidance and capability development.
- Milestone 1: up to $5,000 covering up to 50% of project costs to work with specialist consultants to develop an energy monitoring and analysis plan.
- Milestone 2: up to $45,000 covering up to 50% of project costs to work with specialist consultants to implement the eligible activities in your approved plan.
- Grant funds will be paid in one instalment once both milestones 1 and 2 are complete.
- Have a current australian business number (abn)
- Be registered for goods and services tax (gst)
- Have sufficient metering and monitoring systems in place
- Spend a minimum of $200,000 annually on energy bills at your business site, or demonstrate an equivalent annual on-site energy use of at least 3,600 gigajoules (gj)
- Be the energy bill payer and have operational control of the site.
What the funding covers
- Funding of up to $50K covering up to 50% of project costs.
How to apply
- 1Confirm readiness: Ensure you meet criteria (e.g., ABN, turnover limits, GST registration), align project objectives with grant goals, and estimate time for evidence gathering and writing.
- 2Gather evidence: Collect documents like financials, business plans, market research, project budgets, resumes, risk analysis, and support letters to prove capability and impact.
- 3Register/log in: Obtain an Australian Business Number (ABN) if needed, sign into the relevant portal (e.g., Business Grants Hub portal), and note any prerequisites like advisory service reports.
- 4Prepare and write application: Address all selection criteria clearly (project details, government alignment, costs, outcomes, benefits); keep concise, factual, and compelling; validate for completeness.
- 5Review, approve, and submit: Proofread, get stakeholder sign-off, submit online via the portal before deadline (no late entries); expect eligibility check, merit assessment, and outcome notification.
