Eligibility requirements
All of the following criteria must be met:
- Organisations and individuals undertaking greening projects within the city of melbourne municipality.
- A range of projects may be funded including new green open spaces, tree planting, biodiversity projects, green roofs and vertical greening, and water sensitive urban design projects.
- Funding is available under 2 streams:
- Stream 1 – high-impact greening
- Matched funding of $30,000 to $100,000 available for larger projects on private property with environmental and community benefits (e.g. green walls and facades, new green spaces with canopy cover, communal areas, rooftop gardens, water sensitive urban design and innovative design)
- Matched funding of up to $10,000 available for community-focused, smaller-scale projects on private property or council footpaths that have a
- (e.g. residential communal area uplifts, laneway greening, planter boxes and pots, garden bed revitalisation, food growing and biodiversity plantings).
- Applications will be accepted from residents, business owners, owners' corporations and community groups.
- To be eligible, greening projects must:
- Be located within the city of melbourne
- Be primarily focused on creating a new greening project
- Demonstrate community and environmental benefits
- Be publicly accessible or visible to others
- Have a clear plan for long-term maintenance
- Be located on private property owned by the applicant, or with written consent from the landowner or be on public land allowed to be greening via a

How to apply
