Eligibility requirements

All of the following criteria must be met:

  • All career stages eligible
  • Based at UK research organisation eligible for AHRC funding

What the funding covers

  • Fundamental research leading to new research agendas
  • Networking activity and idea generation
  • Development of further research opportunities
  • Maximum award: £100K FEC (AHRC funds 80%)

How to apply

  1. 1Confirm that you are the project lead before starting the application.
  2. 2Sign in or create a UKRI Funding Service account by selecting your organisation, verifying your email address, and setting a password.
  3. 3If your organisation is not listed, contact support@funding-service.ukri.org and allow at least 10 working days for it to be added.
  4. 4Create an organisation Administration Account if required, to enable future grant acceptance and management.
  5. 5Complete all application questions directly in the text boxes, saving progress or working offline if needed.
  6. 6Upload required documents following the Funding Service instructions and review all guidance in the 'How to apply' section.
  7. 7Use the 'read-only' view to check your application thoroughly before submission.
  8. 8Send the completed application to your research office for review and editing.
  9. 9Allow your research office to submit the final checked application to UKRI.
