Eligibility requirements

All of the following criteria must be met:

  • Must be based at UK research organisation eligible for BBSRC funding
  • Application must have direct link to current or previous BBSRC-supported funding
  • Must draw substantially on current or prior BBSRC funding
  • Projects must seek to provide demonstrable benefit within the UK

What the funding covers

  • FEC up to £800,000, BBSRC funds 80% FEC
  • Defined programmes of work for up to 2 years
  • Both early-stage projects (de-risking innovative ideas) and later-stage projects (significant technical milestones)
  • Development of research outputs into practical application
  • Not for Official Development Assistance (ODA) activity
  • Total fund: £3,000,000
