About this grant
Supports decarbonisation of homes and small/medium non-domestic buildings. Provides upfront capital grants to replace fossil fuel heating with low carbon heating systems.

Eligibility requirements
All of the following criteria must be met:
- Property must be home or small/medium non-domestic building in England or Wales
- Maximum installation capacity of 45 kWth
- Must have valid energy performance certificate
- Fully replacing existing fossil fuel or electric heating system
- Biomass boilers only eligible in rural locations not connected to gas grid
- Cannot be funded by more than one source of public funds
What the funding covers
- £7.5K off air source heat pump
- £7.5K off ground source heat pump
- £5K off biomass boiler
How to apply
- 1Contact suitable MCS certified installers to get quotes for the work.
- 2Confirm your eligibility with the installer.
- 3Agree on a quote with your chosen installer.
- 4The installer will apply for the grant on your behalf through the Ofgem website.
- 5The grant amount will be deducted from the installation cost you pay.
- 6Ofgem will contact you to confirm that the installer is acting on your behalf.
- 7Ofgem may contact you by phone or visit your property to check the installation.
- 8MCS may contact you to carry out additional checks.
