Eligibility requirements

All of the following criteria must be met:

  • Property must be home or small/medium non-domestic building in England or Wales
  • Maximum installation capacity of 45 kWth
  • Must have valid energy performance certificate
  • Fully replacing existing fossil fuel or electric heating system
  • Biomass boilers only eligible in rural locations not connected to gas grid
  • Cannot be funded by more than one source of public funds

What the funding covers

  • £7.5K off air source heat pump
  • £7.5K off ground source heat pump
  • £5K off biomass boiler

How to apply

  1. 1Contact suitable MCS certified installers to get quotes for the work.
  2. 2Confirm your eligibility with the installer.
  3. 3Agree on a quote with your chosen installer.
  4. 4The installer will apply for the grant on your behalf through the Ofgem website.
  5. 5The grant amount will be deducted from the installation cost you pay.
  6. 6Ofgem will contact you to confirm that the installer is acting on your behalf.
  7. 7Ofgem may contact you by phone or visit your property to check the installation.
  8. 8MCS may contact you to carry out additional checks.
