Support for EV drivers who rent or own a flat towards costs of purchase and installation of EV charge points.
Key facts
Eligibility requirements
All of the following criteria must be met:
- Own and live in a flat, OR rent any residential property
- Own eligible vehicle on OZEV-approved list
- Home must have private off-street parking
- Cannot have already claimed this grant or predecessors (EVHS/DRS)
- Use OZEV-approved installer and chargepoint
What the funding covers
- 75% off cost to buy and install socket, up to £350 (£500 from 1 April 2026)
How to apply
- 1By applying for this grant, you confirm that you have reviewed and will comply with eligibility criteria and OZEV home and workplace grant terms and conditions.
- 2Obtain any required third-party permissions before installing the chargepoint.
- 3Contact an OZEV-authorised installer to get a quote for the installation work.
- 4Start a new application by creating an account and submitting property and vehicle details to OZEV.
- 5If renting, provide a signed and dated tenancy agreement.
- 6If renting, provide a utility bill less than 3 months old showing your name and property address.
- 7If renting, provide written permission from landlord or property manager including their name, your name, and property address.
- 8If renting, provide a quote from an OZEV-authorised installer.
- 9If owning a flat, provide a utility bill less than 3 months old showing your name and property address.
- 10If owning a flat, provide written permission from freeholder or property manager including their name, your name, and property address.
- 11If owning a flat, provide a quote from an OZEV-authorised installer.
- 12If you have a vehicle on order, provide the vehicle order form.
- 13If eligible, OZEV will notify both you and your installer via email.
- 14The email will include terms and conditions, installation instructions, and grant claim process details.
- 15The installer will receive similar instructions along with a link to an online form.
- 16After installation, the installer will claim the grant on your behalf.
- 17The installer must submit chargepoint details, installation photos, and an invoice showing total cost minus grant amount.
- 18The installer must deduct the grant amount from your invoice before claiming.
- 19If approved, OZEV will pay the grant amount directly to the installer.
- 20OZEV may audit your application or installation to ensure compliance.
- 21You must comply with audit requests or your application may be cancelled.
