Enterprising Ashfield Advice and guidance for people starting or growing a business

Eligibility requirements

All of the following criteria must be met:

• This project is funded by the Government's Towns Fund and will specifically benefit businesses and individuals either living or working in the towns of Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield.
• All support provided will be subject to a check to confirm geographic eligibility.

What the funding covers

• Free courses – supporting individuals to upskill, boost their CVs, or providing bespoke courses for employee groups to address skills gaps.
• Start-up grant of £1K – one-to-one advice and workshops to help individuals launch new business ideas.
• Growth grant of up to £1.5K – mentoring and funding support for new or established businesses looking to grow.
• Support to innovate – R&D assistance, including access to university expertise and facilities for developing new products or processes.
• Talent grant of up to £2.5K – advice and support to attract high-calibre applicants and recruit graduates.
• Apprenticeships – support for upskilling employees through higher-level apprenticeship programmes.
