Eligibility requirements

All of the following criteria must be met:

  • Only for invited applicants following a successful outline application
  • Must be based at an eligible UK research organisation
  • EPSRC standard eligibility rules apply
  • Project co-lead (international) role only for UKRI-RCN Money Follows Cooperation agreement or UKRI-IIASA agreement

  • Up to 80% of full economic costs (FEC) of the project
  • Funding can be awarded for up to six years

  • Research activities
  • Impact activities

How to apply

  1. 1Submit the application through the UKRI Funding Service, with the project lead completing the submission.
  2. 2Include a summary (550 words) as part of the application.
  3. 3Provide core team details outlining roles and expertise.
  4. 4Submit a Vision and Approach document (6 pages plus 1-page workplan).
  5. 5Describe applicant and team capability using the R4RI format (1,500 words).
  6. 6Include references (1,000 words) supporting the application.
  7. 7Provide project partner details and letters of support.
  8. 8Include facilities information relevant to project delivery.
  9. 9Disclose any sensitive information as required by the funding guidelines.
  10. 10Provide resources and cost justification (1,000 words).
  11. 11Address ethics and responsible research and innovation (RRI) considerations (500 words).
  12. 12Note that applications are batched internally for assessment and there is no fixed closing date.
