Eligibility requirements

All of the following criteria must be met:

  • Only for invited applicants following a successful outline application
  • Must be based at an eligible UK research organisation
  • EPSRC standard eligibility rules apply
  • No uninvited resubmissions accepted
  • Project co-lead (international) role only for UKRI-RCN Money Follows Cooperation agreement or UKRI-IIASA agreement

  • Up to 80% of full economic costs (FEC) of the project
  • Funding can be awarded for up to six years

How to apply

  1. 1Applications must be submitted through the UKRI Funding Service. The project lead completes the application, which must include: Summary (550 words), Core team details, Vision and Approach document (6 pages + 1 page workplan), Applicant and team capability (1,500 words using R4RI format), References (1,000 words), Project partners details and letters of support, Facilities information, Sensitive information disclosure, Resources and cost justification (1,000 words), Ethics and RRI considerations (500 words). Applications are batched internally for assessment - there is no fixed closing date.
