Eligibility requirements
All of the following criteria must be met:
- Meet UKRI eligibility criteria
- Actively engaged in postdoctoral research
- Doctorate or equivalent research experience
- US applicants must be eligible for NSF funding
- Must submit Expression of Interest (EOI) before full application
What the funding covers
- AHRC-led: UK costs £50K-£1 million
- BBSRC-led: UK costs up to £1 million (no minimum)
- ESRC-led: UK costs £350K-£1 million
- NSF-led with AHRC UK funder: max £350K
- NSF-led with ESRC/BBSRC UK funder: max £1 million
How to apply
- 1Submit the Expression of Interest (EOI) using the required template to sbeleadagency@ukri.org if AHRC is the lead, or to sbe-ukri@nsf.gov if NSF-SBE is the lead.
- 2Wait for EOI approval before proceeding to the next stage.
- 3After approval, submit the full application through either the UKRI Funding Service or the NSF submission systems, depending on the lead agency.
